Thanks. I wanted to approach this from the most realistic point I could, and it seemed that making John intersexed at birth was the best way to respond. It's an interesting subject and a painful one for any intersexed child whose parents made the wrong decision about gender assignment.
John is in a difficult place, no doubt about it, but he'll get through one way or the other. I have faith in him.
