First of all, amazing story, really. As short as it is, it brings to life this amazing background your John has, the struggle he had to go through all his life. Very good writing! Your portrayal of John/Carson and even Rodney is very real, very three-dimensional and still, very true to how we see them on screen. Well Done!!!
Rodney will hack Carson's records, realize that he really shouldn't have, then fix it anyway and fret over how to tell John I can't help but love the possibilities you open up with this comment :) I can just imagine Rodney hacking the records, then secluding himself, tampering with the pod to have it either bypass gender or create a choice input of male or female, and somehow get John to use it. Though telling John about the changes is the best option, I can't help think that Rodney would go so far as to set-up a mock operation as an excuse to drug John and put him in the pod.
I haven't written fanfic in ages, so I'm not going to write this up, but I do like thinking about the posibilities with this.
